BE. MOVE.
I'm feeling inspired. Are you? Tears fill my eyes as I watch this, trying to keep up with the words. Did you know that Sam Cooke's "A Change Is Gonna Come" was an answer to Dylans "Blowin' in the Wind". It's amazing how art can be inspiring. Or rather how once we are inspired we can create art. Sometimes that is the best art.
In the Huffington Post, Will.I.AM of Black Eyed Peas fame wrote that of Obama's speech in which he did this song, "it inspired me...
it inspired me to look inside myself and outwards towards the world...
it inspired me to want to change myself to better the world...
and take a "leap" towards change...
and hope that others become inspired to do the same...
change themselves..
change their greed...
change their fears...
and if we "change that"
"then hey"..
we got something right...???..."
I feel this song, Obama's speech; the music around us can speak volumes. It can help us raise up out of our sleep-walking and fight for change. And take the leadership role in order for change to happen. It's not about who you will vote for this year, it's about inspiration. It's about making things want to happen. How our country will change and grow is up to you!
Morning Railway is about music and travel. Why I feel these things go hand in hand is because sometimes I hear a song and it'll feel like I'm on the road in the middle of nowhere on the way to my destination while this song powers me to keep going on. I feel a song is that opening scene when someone's looking out the window of their midnight train; in awe of the beauty of just being and going all at once. It's time to BE. It's time to MOVE. I hope that you will go with me on these journeys as I try to grow and bring about change.
YES WE CAN
